This 3-hour photography training is completely dedicated to low light. We meet somewhere in town at a location to be confirmed when you book. First, while enjoying a drink (and depending on what you know already), there will be a briefing on camera settings – especially low light techniques – and the way cameras see the world. With the basics covered we start walking in the very scenic old town.
Along the way we stop at various photographic locations. You will learn how to choose what to put into your photo and how to deal with various levels of light (and darkness). At night you can’t have it all, so you have to make choices. Make the right ones and your photos will suddenly look a lot better. First we shoot while handholding the camera and then we switch to the tripod.
You might have heard of “HDR photography” and this is exactly what we are going to do. With a tripod you have many extra options. Tripod photography requires a different setup of the camera. That’s why it is important to bring a camera that has manual controls. Tonight you’re going to tell the camera exactly what to do, otherwise you can’t get the results you had in mind (Or much better than that!).
In darkness cameras have problems recording the image you want. One single photo is usually not enough to capture the huge contrasts of light. The key here is to conquer these problems by using HDR (High Dynamic Range) techniques. Then you can finally go for the images you were hoping for. You will be amazed when you discover the possibilities.
On tour you will receive a password, which gives you access to the “clients” section. There you will find many articles on things I talk about on tour, especially the technical issues. When you hear all the options the main camera settings have to offer, you may feel confused at times. These articles make sure you will never forget what you learnt!
